AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run Sensu on. All 22 options bill the same way; they differ only by instance size and family. The t3 instances offer burstable general-purpose capacity, while the m3, m4, and m5 families provide steady general-purpose compute. Sizes range from medium and large up to very large options such as the 24xlarge and metal configurations. Your hourly rate rises as you choose instances with more CPU and memory. You match the instance to your monitoring workload, and billing scales with the size you select.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
Each hourly rate covers a running EC2 instance with Sensu pre-installed and maintained by Hossted. The t3, m3, m4, and m5 labels map to specific CPU and memory sizes. You pick the size that fits your monitoring workload. The rate reflects that instance's compute and memory capacity.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
The hourly software charge meters running time only. When the instance is fully stopped, the Sensu software charge stops accruing. You may still pay underlying AWS fees for storage attached to a stopped instance, but the software license bills active hours.
What is included with the deployment beyond the software itself?
Each hourly instance includes deployment on your cloud, continuous security scans, and a control dashboard to manage the application. Hossted also provides 24/7 support with a 30-minute response target. These items apply to every instance type at no separate line item.
