64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Has reduced deployment time and improved project delivery with a pre-configured and optimized environment
What is our primary use case?
I use Intuz WordPress to quickly deploy and manage multiple WordPress websites for my clients. It helps me get a fully configured and optimized environment in minutes without spending time on manual setup or troubleshooting dependencies.
How has it helped my organization?
It has made my deployment process much faster and smoother. Earlier, setting up WordPress with the right PHP and MySQLÂ versions used to take hours. Now, I can launch a ready-to-use instance in just a few clicks. This has improved my project turnaround time and reduced the load on my DevOps team.
What is most valuable?
The pre-configured stack is a big plus because everything works perfectly out of the box. The performance optimization and security hardening are also noticeable. Plus, it integrates well with Amazon Web Services (AWS ) infrastructure, which makes scaling and backups super easy.
What needs improvement?
It would be great to have more built-in monitoring options or a lightweight dashboard to track site health and resource usage. Auto SSL setup would also make it even more convenient.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used the solution for around 2 years.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used manual EC2 setup for WordPress. I switched because Intuz WordPress’s pre-built image saves me a lot of time and ensures consistency across all my client environments.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is fair and completely justified for the value it provides. I save a lot of setup and maintenance time, which easily offsets the small additional cost compared to setting up WordPress manually. For anyone managing multiple client sites, this AMI is a cost-effective and time-saving option.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I looked into Bitnami and a few manual setup scripts. However, Intuz WordPress offered the best balance between simplicity, reliability, and performance.
What other advice do I have?
If you are looking for a ready-to-use WordPress environment that is optimized, secure, and well-documented, Intuz WordPress is a great choice. The support team is also responsive and helpful whenever you need guidance. I highly recommend it for developers, digital agencies, and businesses that want to launch WordPress on Amazon Web Services (AWS) quickly and reliably.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Terrible Documentation
This needs to be done better, the documentation is terrible and only a couple of things to reference, i do not recommend this image in its current state, these images are supposed to make our life easier to launch and mange Worpdress but it makes it harder because we have to chase down non existent documentation on how to get it going. Amazon you should be actively checking these as well.
Doesn't work
Followed instructions but unfortunately the WordPress is not available once this is running.
Once the instance is running, enter the public IP provided by Amazon into your browser. Wait for the instance health checks to pass. You will then see the wordpress page -
### Wordpress page was not shown - only apache 2 ubuntu default page
You can access '/wp-admin' page and use 'admin' as username and 'instance-id' as password.
### /wp-admin results in 404 not found error
You can also access your instance via SSH using the username 'ubuntu' and your Amazon private key.
### key refused

### horribly designed website for finding any assistance on getting this non-working instance to work
Works Great Out the Box
I forget what makes this wordpress AMI the best, but I've tried a few others and ran into some obstacles. This one works well out the box and i've been running this over a year now. No T3 support yet, but this one works!
Awesome AMI, Huge Time Saver
This is my go to AMI for testing and launching simple sites. I create a lot of Wordpress sites for work and when you just need to test a migration, create a quick site that you can later migrate, etc.
