This intermediate-level, 3-day instructor-led course teaches you how to plan and migrate existing workloads to the AWS Cloud. You will learn cloud migration strategies and how to apply each step of the migration process, including portfolio discovery, application migration planning and design, conducting a migration, and post-migration validation and optimization. Five hands-on labs reinforce learning and provide the foundation necessary to complete migration tasks in your organization.

- Design and implement a secure AWS landing zone using AWS Control Tower and AWS Organizations

Migration Scenario Context
Labs simulate migrating a multi-tier web application with a relational database from an on-premises environment to AWS. You will practice server migration, database migration to Amazon Aurora, network connectivity configuration, and application optimization using Amazon S3 and Amazon ECS - reflecting common enterprise migration patterns.

Course Outline
Day 1: Cloud migration fundamentals, readiness assessment using the Cloud Adoption Readiness Tool (CART), migration workstreams, landing zone design with AWS Control Tower, portfolio discovery, and migration strategy selection.
Day 2: Portfolio discovery tools (Migration Evaluator, AWS Migration Hub, AWS Application Discovery Service), migration planning and factory design, server migration with AWS MGN, and database migration to Amazon Aurora.
Day 3: Additional migration support (AWS Managed Services, AWS Service Catalog, Microsoft and SAP workloads), cutover strategy, application modernization and optimization, operations automation with AWS Config and DevOps practices, and migration best practices review.
Lab Environment Security
Hands-on lab environments are isolated, ephemeral AWS accounts provisioned specifically for each training session. No participant data is retained after the lab session concludes. All lab communications are encrypted in transit, and environments are decommissioned at course completion.
