Each running instance meters one hour of software time per hour, though the software itself carries no license fee.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software carries no license fee, so it adds no hourly software charge for either instance type. However, AWS bills its own infrastructure charges separately. A stopped instance may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes. Fully terminated instances stop accruing those AWS charges.
How does hourly billing work if I run both instance types at once?
