Overview
DFS Namespaces (Distributed File System) is a role service in EC2 that enables you to group shared folders located on different servers into one or more logically structured namespaces. This makes it possible to give users a virtual view of shared folders, where a single path leads to files located on multiple servers. Also, this provides for a centralized management and operation of EC2 shares within an organization, this can span to cloud services as well. With DFS Replication you can add in multiple high availability replication rings to either on-premises servers or cloud servers as this allows for greater uptime.
