IIS stands for Internet Information Services (IIS, formerly known as Internet Information Server) IIS is a web server software package designed for Windows Server. Each version of Microsoft Windows Server contains installable Internet Information Services (IIS) web server role. With the recent release of Windows Server 2016 comes IIS version 10 a.k.a version 10.0.14393.0.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

*Connect to your Windows instance via port no. 3389 using RDP *Please refer this article: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/WindowsGuide/connecting_to_windows_instance.html *Sign-in credentials: Username: Administrator
*To check IIS version via Control Panel: 1)Click on the bottom-left Windows button. 2) Look through the apps and programs to find Windows System folder. 3)Click to expand Windows System and choose Control Panel. 4)Choose to view by Large/Small icons. 5)Select the Administrative Tools option from the window. 6)Double click on the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager to open it. 7)Click Help from the menu bar. 7)Choose About Internet Information Services from the drop-down list. 8)The version information will be displayed in the pop-up window. Please click OK and close the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager when you have finished checking the IIS version.
- To see the default page of IIS:
- Open your browser after logging into this AMI.
- Copy and paste the public IP address of your EC2 Instance in the browser and hit enter.
- Please allow port 80 in the security group of your EC2 Instance.
*Below are the minimum external resources subscriber needs to have to use this product: i) An Internet Connection is required in order for this product to function as expected ii)We recommend keeping your crucial data in a custom made encrypted EBS in order to save from termination in future.
