Overview
Quantify the real world cost, licensing, and infrastructure opportunities of your AWS journey backed by data.
The Perform Partners Cloud Viability Assessment is organisations exploring the option to migrate away from thier existing estate or evaluating whether their current cloud spend is delivering value. Whether you are migrating from on-premises or another hyperscaler, this assessment provides the evidence you need to make a confident, defensible decision.
Why a Cloud Viability Assessment?
Cloud cost overruns, licensing exposure, and ungoverned environments rarely surface in dashboards until they become board-level problems. We combine automated discovery with structured workshops to surface what is actually happening across your estate - and translate the findings into clear, evidence-led recommendations.
What you receive
-
Discovery & utilisation analysis - real-world data on compute, storage, memory, and workload utilisation across your current environment
-
Right-sizing recommendations - optimised AWS instance and resource recommendations based on actual usage, not nameplate specifications
-
Licensing optimisation - comparison of Bring Your Own License (BYOL), License Mobility, and AWS-purchased licensing options for Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server, and other in-scope workloads
-
Cost model & business case - directional AWS cost estimates and a data-backed business case comparing current state to target state on AWS
-
Migration recommendations - workload placement guidance, purchase-type analysis (On-Demand, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances), and migration approach
-
OLA Report - final report with tailored AWS service recommendations, cost optimisation strategies, and next-step guidance
Our approach
-
Strategic consultation - We work with your team to understand business objectives, in-scope workloads, and constraints.
-
Discovery - Automated and agentless data collection on infrastructure, software licences, and workload utilisation.
-
Analysis - Modelling of cost and licensing optimisation scenarios, including dedicated vs. multi-tenant hosting trade-offs and BYOL vs. renewal options.
-
OLA Report - Tailored recommendations for AWS services, cost optimisation, and total cost of ownership when fully migrated to AWS.
Scope and Prerequisites
The assessment is scoped during an initial consultation call where we agree the number of servers or workloads in scope, environments to be assessed, and any platform exclusions. Buyers must provide read-only access to infrastructure for agentless discovery tooling. Typical engagements cover estates ranging from 50 to several thousand workloads. The engagement is delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams, with optional on-site workshops available.
Why Perform Partners
Delivered by senior practitioners with cross-sector experience across regulated industries, public sector, and Enterprise technology. Vendor-neutral recommendations focused on your business outcomes - not vendor sales targets. AI-supported analysis with every artefact reviewed by a Perform Lead before release.
Data Handling and Security
All discovery data is collected using agentless tooling with read-only access. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, retained only for the duration of the engagement, and securely disposed of upon delivery of the final Report. Access to client data is restricted to the assigned Perform Partners engagement team. We have experience delivering assessments for organisations in regulated industries and public sector environments where strict data governance requirements apply.
AWS funding may apply
The Cloud Viability Assessment may be eligible for AWS funding support. Contact us via Private Offer to discuss your eligibility and scope.
