    Neon

     Info
    Sold by: Neon
Neon brings the serverless experience to Postgres. Neon enables developers to build faster on Postgres and scale their products effortlessly, without the need to dedicate big teams or big budgets to the database.

    Overview

Instant provisioning: Neon databases are provisioned in under a second. Fast development: Neon combines this provisioning speed with database branching workflows, which enable engineering teams (and individual developers) to add the database to their CI/CD pipelines. In a second, they can create isolated environments for testing and development that resemble production data, building collaboratively and shipping improvements in a fraction of the time. Affordable dev and testing databases: Neon database branches work via copy-on-write and they scale to zero when inactive. Combined, this significantly lowers down the costs of non-production deployments - developers not only get a superior DX but a better deal as well. Efficient and automatic scalability: Neon not only saves engineering time during the building phase - when it is time to scale, Neon takes care of it effortlessly. Neon databases automatically scale resources according to load, ensuring optimal performance during traffic spikes without the need for over provisioning in advance. Neon storage also scales automatically- no need to manage disks.

    Highlights

    • Instant Provisioning and Fast Development: Neon databases are ready in under a second, enabling quick CI/CD integration and isolated testing environments for efficient development.
    • Affordable Dev and Testing Databases: Neon's branches scale to zero when inactive, reducing non-production costs and enhancing the developer experience.
    • Efficient and Automatic Scalability: Neon adjusts resources according to load, ensuring optimal performance during traffic spikes and eliminating the need for manual disk management.

What do you like best about the product?
I’ve been using Neon for a few months now, and I have to say—it’s been a game-changer for me. I was initially drawn in by the fact that it’s serverless and PostgreSQL-compatible, but what’s really impressed me is how it handles scaling. With Neon, I don’t have to worry about provisioning too much or too little compute
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as such, one thing is memory in free tier. If it can be increased and we can test on more data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am learning postgres using neon

What do you like best about the product?
By using Neon in our projects, we've been able to get up and running in record time. Their documentation is easy to understand, and they have multiple examples to get you up to speed really fast. Integration with Drizzle on TypeScript is flawless. We'll definitely use it more in our next projects now that PlanetScale has dropped their free tier.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, it's pretty close to perfect. Nothing to complain about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps us get a database up and running extremly fast without all the fuss. Amazingly fast out of the box, little to no optimizations to do.
