You pay by the hour for support tied to your chosen EC2 instance. Each dimension maps to one ARM-based instance type, such as t4g.nano through r8g.48xlarge and bare metal options. Pricing scales with instance size: smaller instances like t4g.micro or m6g.medium bill at lower hourly rates, while larger and metal instances like x8g.metal-48xl bill higher. You only pay for the hours each instance runs. Select the instance that matches your workload, and the support charge follows that instance's tier. No upfront commitment applies with this usage-based model.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You pay for support services tied to the running EC2 instance, not the instance compute itself. This covers the audited, security-tested Rocky Linux 9 ARM image plus access to a 24/7 support team that helps you launch and resolve issues. AWS charges the underlying instance and storage separately.
The hourly support charge meters only running instance-hours. A fully stopped instance does not accrue this hourly software fee. Note that AWS may still bill underlying storage for a stopped instance, but that is separate from the support charge shown here.
The support charge follows whichever instance type you run. Switching to a larger type, such as from m6g.medium to m8g.24xlarge, applies that type's hourly rate for the hours it runs. The change is not automatic; it takes effect when you launch the new instance type.

Usage instructions
Connecting to your instance
After launching your supported Rocky Linux 9 instance, the recommended connection method is AWS Systems Manager Session Manager SSM. This provides a secure and fully managed way to access the instance without opening inbound ports. Detailed instructions are available at https://docs.aws.amazon.com/systems-manager/latest/userguide/session-manager.html
If you choose to connect with SSH, use the default username rocky along with your private key file and the instance public IP address. Connect on port 22 using the format:
ssh -i /path/to/your-key.pem rocky@public-ip-address

Security recommendations
Avoid exposing your instance directly to the public internet. If SSH access is required, restrict your security group to trusted IP addresses only.
This image is fully updated at the time of release and configured for general enterprise use. Some workloads or services may require additional configuration depending on your environment.
