Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for this Rocky Linux 10 operating system image. The price attaches to the AWS EC2 instance type you launch it on. Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly rate covers the Rocky Linux 10 software license for one running EC2 instance of the named type. You pay per hour that instance runs. The rate is fixed per instance type, so a larger instance carries a set hourly software charge regardless of how heavily you use its CPU or memory.
The software fee meters running hours only. When you stop an instance, the hourly software charge stops accruing. Underlying AWS storage or other resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from this Rocky Linux 10 license charge.
Each instance type has its own hourly software rate. Switching to a type with more CPU, memory, or accelerators means the higher rate applies for every hour that new instance runs. The change takes effect when you launch the new instance; there is no upfront commitment tying you to one type.
