You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Access the application via a browser at http://<public_dns>:8080/SynapDocViewServer/admin
To connect to the operating system, use SSH and the username ec2-user.
You can start or stop server via the command line by typing "sudo service synapdocviewserver [start or stop]"
