Use this appliance to manage 5G cloud networks as part of the NETSCOUT Service Assurance Platform for Service Providers. Designed to support 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) and 5G Standalone (SA) Architectures.
vSTREAM 5G Edition with NETSCOUT Service Assurance Platform for Service Providers. Using this solution with AWS lets you migrate workloads to AWS with confidence, providing a foundation for common situational awareness for NetOps and other IT groups by monitoring a variety of availability, reliability, responsiveness and threat metrics - making them easily accessible in real time to the right team members with custom views relevant to their function. Actionable visibility from NETSCOUT allows you to take full advantage of AWS capabilities. NETSCOUT uses the industrys most scalable, lightweight distributed architecture to generate Smart Data. Through continuous capturing of packet data (traffic flows) traversing the AWS and hybrid cloud environment and turning it into Smart Data at its point of collection, NETSCOUT provides Visibility without Borders.
Highlights
Confidently migrate workloads to AWS by removing blind spots between different technology and management domains across on-premises and cloud environments.Optimize service performance and reduce Mean-Time-To-Knowledge (MTTK)
NETSCOUT supports AWS native services such as Gateway Load Balancer, Amazon VPC Ingress Routing and Amazon VPC Traffic Mirroring to complement NETSCOUT's embedded virtual appliances that offer software-based instrumentation of application workloads
NETSCOUT has partnered with VMware to provide the most complete packet data visibility solution across your VMware Cloud on AWS environment

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the vSTREAM 5G Edition virtual appliance, with billing tied to the AWS instance type you run. The six dimensions map to specific EC2 instance sizes across two families. Within each family, the 4xlarge sizes carry more compute capacity than the 2xlarge sizes, so hourly rates scale with instance size. Pricing is usage-based, so charges accrue only while an instance runs. You select the instance that fits your monitoring workload, and no upfront commitment or fixed quantity applies.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billed hour on each instance dimension actually cover?
Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance size running the vSTREAM 5G Edition virtual appliance. You are billed for every hour that instance runs. Larger instance sizes (4xlarge) provide more compute for deep packet inspection than 2xlarge sizes, so choose the size that matches your monitoring traffic volume.
Am I charged when a vSTREAM instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges accrue only while an instance runs, since billing is usage-based per hour. A fully stopped instance stops accruing vSTREAM software charges. Underlying AWS storage or other resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but the software meters running time only.
How do the two instance families differ for billing purposes?
The six dimensions span two EC2 families. Both run the same vSTREAM 5G Edition appliance for packet-based monitoring in virtualized and cloud environments. The families differ in networking and compute characteristics, which affects the hourly rate. You pick one family and size per running instance; charges bill independently per instance.

The NETSCOUT vSTREAM for AWS is a virtual appliance that complements existing Adaptive Session Intelligence (ASI)- based instrumentation to provide the same smart data visibility within virtualized and cloud infrastructures that is already possible in physical environments. The vSTREAM virtual appliance is ideal for monitoring service-critical traffic running within virtualized or cloud infrastructures, either locally on a host or as an aggregation point for multiple hosts.
With complete visibility across physical, virtual and cloud networks, the vSTREAM virtual appliance presents real-time views of end-to-end call trace data and network-wide KPIs, to protect the reliability and availability of networks and application services with analysis as used in combination with the nGeniusONE Service Assurance platform. It also provides threat detection and forensics analysis when leveraged with the NETSCOUT Security Analytics application. This makes the vSTREAM a uniquely cost-effective solution for both application and network performance management and packet-level visibility.
NETSCOUT optionally collects license information at time of product deployment.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
