Launch a VM instance with this Amazon Machine Image (AMI) to start your own Linux Desktop in the cloud in less than 5 minutes. This server image provides you with a Xfce Desktop Environment for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS on Arm instances. You can connect to the virtual display via RDP or VNC. To keep the VM as clean as possible we have kept the installation to a minimum (no additional tools were installed other than Mozilla Firefox for internet access so that you can get started with your custom software installations out of the box).

Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

- The user name is 'ubuntu' and the password for user, RDP, VNC is your Instance ID (e.g. 'i-0ed22c98429479e1c')
2.a) Open RDP client on your local machine and connect to the public ip-address of your instance on port 3389. See step 1 for username and password. When connecting with Windows Remote Desktop Connection, go to "More Options" and select "Allow me to save credentials." This is the only way the app will prompt you to enter a password.
2.b) Open VNC client on your local machine and connect to the public ip-address of your instance on port 5901. See step 1 for the required password.
