You pay by the hour for Rocky Linux 8.6 LTS with Basic Support, billed per running instance. Pricing has no tiers or commitment. Instead, each rate maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type. Options span general-purpose (m, t), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r, x, z, u), storage-optimized (d, i), and accelerated (g, p, inf, trn, dl, vt) families across many generations and sizes. Larger instances cost more per hour, so your rate scales with the compute, memory, and hardware you select. Software charges apply on top of standard AWS infrastructure fees.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get with the Basic Support that comes with this hourly rate?
You get triage and troubleshooting handled by CIQ, the team behind Rocky Linux. Basic Support is included in your hourly rate at no extra charge. Higher tiers with guaranteed response times, 24/7 coverage, or dedicated account contacts are separate offerings and not part of this listing.
Am I charged the hourly software fee when my EC2 instance is stopped?
The software fee meters running time only. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Standard AWS storage fees for attached volumes may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are AWS infrastructure costs, not this software charge.
What determines the hourly rate I pay across the many EC2 options?
Each rate maps to one specific EC2 instance type. The instance you launch sets your rate. Bigger instances with more vCPUs, memory, or attached hardware carry higher hourly software fees. You pay per running instance, so total cost equals your rate multiplied by hours run across all instances.
