Nordcloud helps customers modernize Oracle database workloads on AWS through a structured approach covering discovery, assessment, migration, and post-migration operations. We support multiple modernization paths: Oracle-to-Oracle Database@AWS (Exadata on AWS), Oracle to Amazon RDS for Oracle, and heterogeneous migrations to AWS-managed open-source databases such as Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL or Aurora MySQL.
In addition, we support migration from Amazon RDS Custom for Oracle to Oracle Database@AWS, combining structured assessment, migration option selection, and execution using proven Oracle and AWS-native tooling.
Overview
Nordcloud provides end-to-end Oracle database modernization services on AWS, using a standardized “assess → modernize → manage” delivery model. We begin with a discovery and assessment phase to confirm scope and stakeholders, review application and database architecture, analyze Oracle AWR performance reports, and clarify governance, risk, and compliance requirements. Based on the assessment, we recommend target technology options aligned with application migration plans, identify modernization blockers and mitigations, estimate effort, and document dependencies.
For execution, we modernize and migrate Oracle workloads using proven migration methods (e.g., RMAN, Data Guard, GoldenGate, Data Pump, and AWS DMS/SCT), depending on the target platform. Supported AWS modernization paths include: (1) Oracle-to-Oracle Database@AWS, enabling Oracle Exadata infrastructure managed by OCI within AWS data centers, with low-latency connectivity to AWS applications and integrations such as Zero-ETL to Amazon Redshift; (2) Oracle to Amazon RDS for Oracle for a fully managed Oracle environment with operational offload; (3) heterogeneous migrations to AWS-managed open-source databases such as Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL or Aurora MySQL.
An additional focus area is the transition from Amazon RDS Custom for Oracle to Oracle Database@AWS, delivered through a structured approach covering pre-migration assessment (sizing and dependencies), migration strategy selection (based on downtime, scale, and constraints), and execution using tools such as ZDM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, RMAN, Data Pump, and AWS DMS.
After migration, Nordcloud can continue with managed services, where a Managed Cloud DBA team supports ongoing optimization and operations of cloud-based database estates.
