Overview
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for technical support with a 24-hour response time. Docker, built on a minimal Amazon Linux 2023 installation, is included in this AMI, repackaged by Easycloud. It provides a fully configured, production-ready container platform, deliberately engineered for immediate developer productivity with sudo-less operation, Docker Buildx, and Docker Compose pre-installed out of the box.
Core Features & Integrations
-
Amazon Linux 2023 Foundation: Provides a highly optimized, cloud-native underlying OS with familiar RPM ecosystem paradigms, ensuring high security, AWS-native performance, and seamless operational interoperability for users transitioning from RHEL, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, and traditional CentOS deployments.
-
Sudo-less Configuration: We have pre-configured the 'ec2-user' to be part of the 'docker' group. You can run docker commands immediately after logging in without needing 'sudo' for every operation, streamlining your workflow.
-
Complete Toolchain: Unlike minimal installations, this image includes Docker Buildx (for multi-architecture builds) and Docker Compose (for defining and running multi-container applications) pre-installed.
-
Systemd Integration: The Docker service is pre-enabled to start on boot. Your containers will automatically resume if the instance is rebooted (if configured with restart policies).
-
Clean and Optimized: The image is cleaned of temporary installation files and caches, ensuring a small footprint and fast boot times on Amazon Linux 2023.
-
Production Ready: Built on the secure and optimized Amazon Linux 2023 kernel, updated with the latest security patches.
Key Benefits
-
The Definitive Container Platform and Cloud-Native DevOps Foundation: By starting with a bloat-free Amazon Linux 2023, maximum CPU and memory are dedicated entirely to the Docker daemon, its BuildKit engine, and the Compose orchestration layer. This makes it the ideal, conflict-free container runtime for teams building and deploying any workload, from Nginx reverse proxies and MySQL or PostgreSQL database containers, to Python microservices, Node.js APIs, Go-compiled binaries, and Redis caching layers. Container fleet management connects natively through Portainer and Rancher for visual administration, while service discovery via Consul and secrets management via HashiCorp Vault integrate directly into the Docker networking stack. Full CI/CD pipelines are supported with Gitea for source control, SonarQube for code quality gates, and Apache Maven and Gradle for build automation. Infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and end-to-end observability through Prometheus and Grafana complete the DevOps stack, giving your Docker-based infrastructure the enterprise toolchain it needs to scale reliably on AWS with Kubernetes as the next orchestration tier.
-
Production Ready & Expert Support: Secured with the latest OS patches. It delivers a highly stable environment, fully supported by comprehensive documentation and fast technical assistance (guaranteed 24-hour response time) to ensure your infrastructure runs smoothly without costly downtime.
Highlights
- Ready-to-Use: Docker service is enabled on boot and configured for the 'ec2-user', eliminating initial setup steps.
- Full Stack Included: Comes with Docker Buildx and Docker Compose plugins pre-installed for advanced building and orchestration.
- Expert Support: Backed by comprehensive documentation and fast, professional technical assistance.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
