AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour based on the AWS instance type you run this geospatial software on. Every option bills at an hourly rate for one xlarge instance, so your cost scales with how long you keep it running. The dimensions map to distinct EC2 instance families: general-purpose (m-series), compute-optimized (c-series), storage-dense (d- and i-series), and GPU or accelerator instances (g-series, inf-series) suited to image processing. Pick the instance that fits your workload; the hourly software charge applies on top of the AWS infrastructure cost. There are no tiers or upfront commitments here.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billing unit cover for each hourly rate?
Each rate covers one xlarge instance of the named EC2 family, billed per hour it runs. You pay for a single instance at a time. Running more instances means each one meters separately. The software charge applies for every active instance-hour, on top of the underlying AWS compute cost.
Am I charged the hourly software fee when my instance is stopped?
The software fee meters running instance-hours. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay AWS for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but that is separate from this software's metered running time.
Why choose a GPU or accelerator instance over a general-purpose one for this software?
The software includes AI-enabled image analytics and machine-learning classification for satellite and aerial imagery. GPU (g-series) and accelerator (inf-series) instances speed those image-processing tasks. General-purpose (m-series) or compute-optimized (c-series) instances suit lighter workflows. Each carries its own hourly rate, so match the instance to your processing needs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
The following steps outline how to launch a CATALYST Professional AMI:
1 - On the CATALYST Professional product page select Continue to subscribe.
2 - Accept the EULA and subscribe to the product.
3 - Select Continue to Configuration.
4 - Adjust the configuration as required.
5 - Select Continue to Launch to quick-launch the specified EC2 instance. You can also open your AWS Marketplace console to see current subscriptions and start an instance.

6 - Connect to the EC2 instance using Remote Desktop (RDP).
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/WindowsGuide/connecting_to_windows_instance.html#connect-rdp
7 - Once you are connected to the machine, start the CATALYST Professional software from the icon on the desktop.
