Automated Cloud Cost Optimizer Stack Deployment
This CloudFormation delivery option automates the deployment of the Automated Cloud Cost & Resource Optimizer within your AWS account.
It provisions all required infrastructure resources—including automated CloudWatch alarms, IAM roles with minimal permissions, and scheduled Lambda triggers—to continuously scan for unused EC2 instances and unattached EBS volumes.
Deployment is fast, secure, and fully automated, requiring zero manual configuration after launch.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."

Usage instructions
- Click the "Launch with CloudFormation Console" button on the AWS Marketplace product page.
- Select your preferred AWS Region and click Next.
- Configure stack parameters, including email notification preferences and scanning frequencies.
- Review the IAM permissions and click "Create stack".
- Once the CloudFormation stack status changes to CREATE_COMPLETE, the automated optimization scanner will begin running according to your configured schedule.
