Measure, Report, and Reduce Your Cloud and AI Carbon Emissions
Tailpipe is a carbon emissions analytics platform that measures the footprint of your cloud infrastructure and AI workloads on AWS, and also works with other major cloud providers for multi-cloud coverage. Customers achieve an average 70% carbon reduction and 30% cost reduction through Tailpipe's prioritised, actionable recommendations.
Trusted by organizations including CommonCrawl and CameraForensics, Tailpipe delivers your first carbon report within 24 hours of signup.
Key Capabilities
Multi-Cloud Carbon Measurement: Track emissions from compute instances, serverless functions, attached and network storage, and data transfer across all your cloud environments - all in a single dashboard.
AI Workload Tracking: Measure carbon emissions from AI operations including input tokens, output tokens, and cached tokens.
Actionable Reduction Recommendations: Receive specific, prioritised recommendations that drive measurable reductions in both carbon emissions and cloud spend.
Compliance-Ready Reporting: Open methodology aligned with the GHG Protocol and SCI-AI specification. Full auditability for ESG disclosures, CSRD reporting, and sustainability audits.
Depth of Coverage
Tailpipe's emissions model covers over 1,800 CPU specifications, 300 cloud instances and VMs, and 30 hardware accelerators. Services tracked include compute instances, serverless workloads, attached storage, network storage, network and data transfer, and AI token usage.
Open and Transparent Methodology
Tailpipe's carbon calculation methodology is fully published and open for review. Aligned with the GHG Protocol and the SCI-AI specification, the methodology gives your auditors and stakeholders full visibility into how emissions figures are derived.
Use Case: Quarterly ESG Reporting
A sustainability team preparing quarterly CSRD disclosures connects their multi-cloud accounts to Tailpipe. Within 24 hours, they receive a granular emissions breakdown by service, region, and workload type. Prioritised recommendations highlight which infrastructure changes yield the largest carbon and cost savings. The open methodology documentation satisfies auditor requirements for reproducibility.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
Pricing uses a single dimension: one connected cloud service provider (CSP) account monitored by Tailpipe for the contract term. You pay per account you connect. This means cost scales with the number of cloud accounts you bring under monitoring. To cover more accounts, you add more units. Each account connects separately with its own read-only access. There are no per-seat or per-user charges tied to this dimension. The unit is the account, so your total depends only on how many accounts you monitor during the term.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one CSP account for billing purposes?
One CSP account is a single connected cloud service provider account monitored for the contract term. Each account connects separately with its own read-only access role. In multi-account setups, including organizational structures, each connected account counts as one unit, so your total reflects how many accounts you monitor.
Is AI carbon tracking billed separately, or is it part of the per-account charge?
AI carbon tracking is included at no extra cost. You route your AI traffic through the proxy to capture token counts, model names, latency, and status. No prompts or responses are captured. This adds no separate pricing dimension beyond the connected CSP account you monitor.
Does connecting more read-only data sources within one account increase my cost?
No. The unit is the connected account, not the number of services within it. One account covers compute, storage, networking, and AI services under its read-only role. Cost scales only when you add more accounts, not when you monitor more services inside a single account.
