Overview
Leapfrog’s Healthcare AI solution for agentic Referral & MedRec Automation helps healthcare organizations automate the intake of faxed, scanned, and digital referrals and medical records using a proven, healthcare-ready solution accelerated by existing Leapfrog IP.
Built on Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, the solution extracts, validates, and routes referral and MedRec data for downstream EHR workflows. In prior customer deployments, this type of workflow has significantly reduced manual intake effort and achieved high levels of extraction accuracy—up to 90% reduction in manual processing and up to 98% accuracy in appropriately configured workflows, depending on document quality, workflow design, and operating context.
The solution can support actions such as creating referrals directly in the EHR, updating medical record data in the patient chart, and routing exceptions to staff for review through human-in-the-loop workflows. To support clinical and operational safety, the architecture includes confidence-based validation, auditability, and HIPAA-aware handling of PHI before information is committed to downstream systems.
