Overview
Managed Cloud Services from LSD Open provides end-to-end operational ownership of modern AWS environments, ensuring platforms remain reliable, secure, and cost-efficient as they scale.
Following cloud migration or modernisation, organisations often face increasing operational complexity. Infrastructure must be continuously monitored, maintained, secured, and optimised to support production workloads and evolving business demands.
LSD Open takes full responsibility for ongoing cloud operations, combining 24/7 monitoring, incident management, lifecycle management of infrastructure, and continuous optimisation. This allows organisations to operate at high levels of reliability and performance without building and managing internal platform operations teams.
The service is delivered by experienced AWS engineers and follows a proactive operational model, identifying risks early, improving infrastructure efficiency, and continuously optimising platform performance and cost.
Key outcomes include:
- 24/7 monitoring and full operational ownership of AWS infrastructure
- Continuous infrastructure lifecycle management and optimisation
- Proactive detection and resolution of incidents and performance risks
- Improved reliability, uptime, and platform resilience
- Continuous cloud cost optimisation aligned to usage patterns
The service supports environments running AWS services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, Amazon EKS, AWS Lambda, IAM, and Amazon CloudWatch.
Managed Cloud Services is typically adopted following cloud transformation initiatives, enabling internal engineering teams to focus on application delivery while LSD Open owns and operates the cloud platform.
Commercial Model
Managed Cloud Services is priced in direct alignment with AWS consumption, ensuring cost scales proportionally with platform usage, operational complexity, and the level of ownership provided.
The service is priced FROM 5% of a customer’s AWS monthly spend depending on volume.
This reflects the end-to-end operational ownership, continuous optimisation, and engineering support required to run production-grade AWS environments.
Billing Structure: If LSD Open is the AWS billing partner: The fee is applied directly as a percentage of AWS spend. If LSD Open is not the billing partner: The same percentage is calculated based on AWS usage and converted into a fixed monthly fee and reviewed quarterly.
How pricing is calculated and maintained: Pricing is based on a rolling three-month average of AWS spend, ensuring stability and predictability.
This is reviewed quarterly, allowing the service cost to adjust in line with actual platform usage.
As environments scale up or down, costs adjust accordingly, maintaining alignment between platform size, operational effort, and delivered value.
This model ensures:
- Transparent and predictable pricing
- Strong alignment between AWS usage and operational ownership
- Scalable cost as environments evolve
