You buy this hardened AlmaLinux 9.5 image on an hourly usage basis. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so you pay only for the hours you run. Pricing scales with the instance you pick. Smaller shared types like t2.nano, t3.medium, and m5.large cost less per hour. Larger compute, memory, storage, GPU, and bare-metal types such as c7i.48xlarge, x1e.32xlarge, and u7in-32tb.224xlarge cost more. You are not locked into a fixed size. Match the instance to your workload, and your hourly software charge tracks that choice.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover on this hardened AlmaLinux image?
One unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select. You pay the software charge for each hour that instance runs. The charge covers the hardened AlmaLinux 9.5 image on that instance. It does not include the underlying AWS compute or storage fees, which AWS bills separately.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped or paused?
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A stopped or terminated instance stops accruing the software fee. Attached storage such as EBS volumes may still incur AWS charges while an instance is stopped, but those are separate from this hourly software price.
Can I switch to a larger or smaller instance type later without buying a new listing?
Yes. You are not locked into one size. Each instance type is a separate hourly dimension in the same listing. Launch a new instance of a different type, and your hourly software charge follows that type. You pay only for the hours each instance runs.
