Cloud FinOps & Cost Management on AWS

     Info
Fixed-price AWS cost assessment plus ongoing FinOps management using AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Compute Optimizer, and AWS Budgets — identifying 20–40% addressable waste and keeping savings permanent.

    Overview

This professional service helps customers achieve specific outcomes related to the cost management of their AWS Cloud by delivering a structured cost assessment and ongoing FinOps management using AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost and Usage Report (CUR), AWS Compute Optimizer, AWS Trusted Advisor, and AWS Cost Anomaly Detection. The engagement begins with a fixed-price cost assessment covering complete spend analysis through AWS Cost Explorer and AWS Cost and Usage Report, rightsizing candidates identified via AWS Compute Optimizer across Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, and AWS Lambda workloads, Reserved Instance and Savings Plan coverage gap analysis, Amazon S3 storage class optimisation opportunities including migration to Amazon S3 Intelligent-Tiering, and data-transfer waste identification. Findings are ranked by saving and implementation effort, and most customers recover the assessment fee within the first month of acting on results.

Ongoing FinOps management holds the savings permanently through commitment strategy design and Reserved Instance and Savings Plan purchase execution coordinated via AWS Cost Explorer, monthly rightsizing cycles driven by AWS Compute Optimizer recommendations, cost anomaly monitoring and alerting using AWS Cost Anomaly Detection and Amazon CloudWatch, and tagging and cost allocation hygiene enforced through AWS Cost Categories and AWS Organizations consolidated billing. Reporting is produced monthly in a board-readable format that shows the saving explicitly and expresses cloud spend in business terms — per customer, per product, or per transaction. For workloads running Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Base or Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Standard on Windows Server 2022 — both available on AWS Marketplace — licence-optimised instance selection and Reserved Instance strategy frequently represent the single largest saving opportunity in the assessment.

Customers using this service are responsible for AWS infrastructure costs incurred in their AWS accounts — including Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, AWS networking, and related services — separately from the service fee transacted through AWS Marketplace. Ongoing FinOps reporting will identify and quantify these infrastructure costs as part of the managed service. This service is suited for any organisation spending USD 10,000 or more per month on AWS without a dedicated cost management function.
