The design sprints run over 5 days: Map - Structured conversations bring focus for the week, and establish a common understanding of the goals Sketch - Participants provide opinionated solutions for the problem space Decide - The working group decides on the best solutions and converts them into a plan for the prototype Prototype - The team builds a prototype ready for collecting feedback, and collates data for building the business case Test - The prototype is demonstrated live to stakeholders, and the business case is presented

Through a combination of AWS, such as the emissions calculator, and bespoke Contino tooling, by the end of the fifth day you will be able to measure the environmental impact of your estate and have a raft of actionable data-driven insights to make both targeted and systemic improvements.

The insights can include: Rearchitecting to more elastic architectures, such as serverless and container-based approaches Migrating to more power-efficient hardware, such as the Graviton line of processors Identifying and terminating redundant resources across the estate, both compute and data Empowering delivery teams to understand the impact of their systems to enable decentralised improvement and innovation Embedding lean engineering practices with a focus on ephemeral resources to support delivery

As part of the working group, Contino provides an experienced facilitator and an expert AWS architect. Combined with a small working group of architects, engineers and product owners from your business, we collectively build a roadmap based on industry best practice that is specific to your business, context and domain.
