Product Overview

This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for technical support and maintenance provided by ProComputers.

Started as a replacement for the recent demised CentOS 8 and as a one-to-one binary compatible fork of RHEL 8, AlmaLinux OS 8 stable version for Arm/AArch64 architecture was released on Wednesday, 30th of June 2021. Built by the team at CloudLinux, the AlmaLinux OS 8 ARM stable release is now available in AWS Marketplace as well, thanks to the work done by engineers at ProComputers.

This is a minimal AlmaLinux 8 ARM image, mainly used as a common base system on top of which other appliances could be built and tested. It contains just enough packages to run within AWS, bring up a SSH Server and allow users to login. Cloud-init, as well as the AlmaLinux 8 security updates available at the release date are included.

Root login is disabled and only the 'ec2-user' account is allowed to connect using ssh public key authentication.

Built using AlmaLinux 8 'Minimal Install' group of packages and a single 8 GiB instance volume. Both root partition and the corresponding filesystem are automatically extended if selected volume is bigger than the default one.

This AlmaLinux 8 ARM AMI is ENA enabled.

This AlmaLinux 8 ARM image is specifically designed to run on the powerful AWS Graviton and Graviton2 ARM processors, for the following instance types: a1, m6g, m6gd, c6g, c6gd, c6gn, r6g, r6gd, t4g, x2gd.
