You pay by the hour for each running instance, with the software billed on top of your AWS compute usage. Pricing is tied to the EC2 instance type you launch, so the rate changes with the size and family you pick. Options span general-purpose families in several generations, from small burstable types up to large and metal instances. Smaller instances carry lower hourly rates; larger instances with more compute carry higher rates. There is no upfront commitment. You start and stop instances as needed, and charges accrue only while an instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly rate on a chosen instance type?
You get a Linux 9 operating system based on RHEL® running on the EC2 instance you launch. The hourly software rate covers the licensed OS and vendor support. AWS compute charges for the instance itself are separate and billed by AWS alongside the software fee.
Am I charged when I stop or shut down an instance?
Software charges accrue only while an instance runs. When you stop an instance, the hourly software fee stops too. You may still owe AWS storage fees for stopped instances, but the software license meters running hours only. Start and stop as needed with no upfront commitment.
Can I use this software for commercial resale or redistribution?
No. The license terms state you may not resell or provide the software for a commercial purpose, and you may not copy or distribute any part of it. Use is for your own workloads only. Contact the vendor at support@articentgroup.com if you have questions about permitted use.
