Ransomware remains one of the most disruptive cyber threats facing organisations today often exposing weaknesses not in technology alone, but in preparedness, coordination, and recovery decision making. The service is centred on an immersive, facilitator led ransomware simulation that places technical, security, and business stakeholders into a realistic attack scenario. Participants experience how a ransomware incident unfolds in real time, testing detection, escalation, response coordination, containment actions, and recovery decision making. This hands on approach provides far greater insight than traditional tabletop exercises or document reviews.

The simulation is complemented by a structured maturity assessment that evaluates ransomware readiness across key domains, including detection and response, backup and recovery, operational resilience, governance, and communications. Drawing on Kyndryl’s deep AWS experience in supporting mission critical operations, cyber recovery, and largescale incident response, findings are aligned to enterprise wide security and resilience best practices.

At the conclusion of the engagement, customers receive a clear, prioritised set of recommendations designed to strengthen end-to-end cyber recovery capabilities, reduce recovery time and impact, and improve confidence in responding to future ransomware events affecting AWS workloads and beyond.
