Imagine a retail company ingesting 50 million daily clickstream events into a real-time analytics pipeline. This course teaches you to design, build, and secure that exact architecture - from raw ingestion through transformation to business-ready dashboards - using AWS-native services.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Implement data warehouses with Amazon Redshift Serverless
• Build scalable batch and streaming data pipelines on AWS
• Process, transform, catalog, and serve data for analytics and BI
• Automate workflows and orchestrate pipelines with AWS Step Functions
• Implement security, governance, monitoring, and compliance best practices
• Confidently sit the AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate exam

Day 1: Foundations, Data Lakes, and Optimization

• Modules 1-4: Data engineering fundamentals, AWS data services, designing data lakes, and lake optimization with AWS Lake Formation
• Labs: Build a Data Lake on AWS; Automate Data Lake creation with AWS Lake Formation
• Milestone: Participants complete a working, secured data lake

Day 2: Data Warehousing and Batch Pipelines

• Modules 5-9: Amazon Redshift Serverless architecture, warehouse optimization and security, batch pipeline design, and building end-to-end batch workflows
• Labs: Build a Redshift Serverless data warehouse; Redshift access control; End-to-end data engineering workflow
• Milestone: Participants deliver a fully operational batch pipeline feeding a secured data warehouse

Day 3: Pipeline Orchestration and Streaming

• Modules 10-12: Pipeline optimization with Step Functions, streaming architectures with Apache Flink and Amazon MSK, streaming security
• Labs: Orchestrate Spark data processing; Streaming analytics with Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink; Secure streaming data pipelines
• Milestone: Participants operate a production-style streaming pipeline with security controls

Participants complete practical labs covering AWS Lake Formation, Amazon Redshift Serverless, AWS Step Functions, Apache Spark, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, and Amazon MSK. Each lab uses isolated, ephemeral AWS environments provisioned per participant.

• Basic knowledge of cloud computing and AWS
• Working knowledge of Python
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (recommended)
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts
• Experience with Git is helpful but not required

All hands-on lab environments are isolated per participant with ephemeral credentials that are rotated after each session. Training content is delivered over encrypted channels, and participant enrollment data is handled in accordance with data protection best practices.
