See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for this hardened Docker image on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. Pricing is not tiered by features. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type you choose at launch. The hourly software rate rises as the instance grows in size and capability. Options span small general-purpose sizes through large memory-, compute-, storage-, and accelerator-focused instances, including bare metal. Every instance runs the same supported image. Your total cost depends on which instance type you pick and how many hours you run it. Separate AWS infrastructure charges also apply.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing cover for a given instance dimension?
Each dimension bills the software licence per hour that the matching AWS EC2 instance runs. One unit equals one running instance-hour for that specific instance type. Partial hours are metered by AWS. You pay only while the instance is in a running state.
Am I charged the software rate when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software licence meters running time only. A stopped or paused instance accrues no hourly software charge. Underlying AWS storage or other infrastructure fees may still apply while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
How does the software charge relate to the AWS infrastructure cost on my bill?
Two charges apply together for each running hour. The software licence rate is set by your chosen instance dimension. Separate AWS infrastructure charges cover the compute, storage, and network for that instance. Larger instances raise both amounts. Both appear on the same AWS invoice.
