Phase 1: Assess (~2-4 weeks)

• Complete VMware estate inventory: hosts, VMs, datastores, networks, dependencies, and resource utilization
• Prioritized migration roadmap with wave plans grouped by production and pre-production environments
• Per-workload AWS service recommendations: which VMs rehost to EC2, which databases move to RDS, which containerize to EKS or ECS
• TCO analysis across three scenarios: current VMware spend vs. AWS rehost, AWS optimized, and AWS modernized

Phase 2: Mobilize (2-4 weeks)

• Production-ready AWS landing zone: multi-account architecture, VPC design, Transit Gateway, IAM, CloudTrail, GuardDuty
• Observability stood up before migration begins: CloudWatch dashboards, cost tracking, APM tooling, and utilization monitoring for real-time visibility into migration progress
• AWS Config conformance packs mapped to target compliance framework (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, NIST, FedRAMP) so continuous compliance evaluation is active before the first workload migrates
• Pilot workloads migrated and validated end to end

Phase 3: Migrate (~4-16 weeks)

• Structured wave execution following a test-cutover-validate cycle for each workload group, minimizing downtime and rollback risk
• Right-sized compute based on actual utilization metrics, not VMware overallocations
• Database migrations to RDS, Aurora, or DynamoDB with schema conversion and minimal downtime
• Storage migration to EBS, EFS, S3, or FSx matched to access patterns
• Container-ready applications packaged and deployed to EKS or ECS during migration
• Broadcom licensing termination plan with a wave-by-wave decommissioning schedule tied to your renewal window

Phase 4: Modernize and Operate (~4-12 weeks, concurrent or post-migration)

Pricing and commercial terms. All engagements are priced via private offer. Eligible engagements qualify for AWS MAP funding: up to $200 per migrated VM capped at $1M, or $300 per VM capped at $2M with Managed Operations. Customers starting a 12-month DuploCloud Platform subscription via AWS Marketplace receive migration fees credited toward year-1 costs at Platform Go-Live.
