You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you run this pre-configured BoxLang Miniserver image on. Every dimension maps to one AWS instance size, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, storage, or accelerator capacity you select. Smaller general-purpose types like t3 and m5 sit alongside compute-optimized (c-family), memory-optimized (r-family), storage-heavy (i and d families), and GPU or accelerator types (g, p, inf, trn). There are no tiers or commitments. You choose the instance that fits your workload and pay only for the hours it runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What am I actually running when I pay for one of these hourly instances?
You run a pre-configured Windows-based virtual machine image with the BoxLang Miniserver runtime already set up. The image deploys on the EC2 instance type you pick. Each dimension maps to one instance size, so you launch a ready-to-use BoxLang environment without manual installation.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software fees. You may still pay underlying AWS storage costs for the attached volume while the instance is stopped, but the BoxLang Miniserver charge applies to the hours the instance actually runs.
How do I switch to a bigger or smaller instance if my workload changes?
You choose a different instance-type dimension when you launch or relaunch the image. There are no tiers or commitments, so moving between sizes is not an upgrade path. You simply run the size that fits the workload and pay the hourly rate for that type.
