To begin your modernization journey, we'll assess your current VMware workloads on AWS, identify areas for improvement, and discuss how you might best optimize them with AWS native services, like CloudFormation, EKS, ECS, and ECR. To do this, our Solutions Architects meet with your team to discuss the state of your current VMware applications and what opportunities exist for you when moving to an AWS-first approach.

• Funding from AWS to help you finance a transition

The goal of this conversation is to identify where applications can be improved in a seamless transition for you and your users, creating a modernization process that minimizes downtime and keeps your environment aligned to best practices.

• Improving the development lifecycle and removing friction from deployments and maintenance
• Scalability and performance, for unanticipated traffic or spiky patterns of utilization
• Designing for cost savings and efficient usage
• Ease of management, through the setup of orchestration services like EKS, Fargate, and others
• Hardened security and higher reliability, including container configuration, image selection, and logging strategies to detect drift and other long-term risks
• Designing for high-availability and Disaster Recovery scenarios, including RPO and RTO targets of your choosing
• The transition itself—namely, ensuring that your workloads are functioning as expected after a thorough QA and handoff process
• Training to manage all migrated applications on AWS and the documentation necessary to do so
