    Overview

    This service combines practical advice and guidance with hands-on activities to transform an organisation’s approach to controlling their cloud costs. By bringing together key stakeholders from finance, procurement and your technical functions, we build a picture of your requirements before building an action plan for customised reporting, budget setting, resource tagging and monitoring.

    We will then implement the agreed plan, following up with a further workshop to validate the dashboards, reporting and alert routing. This will be supported by written recommendations with additional advice to support the cultural changes which may be required to build cloud cost control into people’s roles.

    Highlights

    • Customised Reports and Dashboards​ - Providing visibility across multiple accounts through a portal that finance and other business leaders can access and understand, dashboards will be customised to user requirements. Reports will be designed to be delivered direct to mailboxes to an agreed schedule.​
    • Setting Budgets, Monitoring and Alerting​ - We will use AWS native tools including AWS Cost Explorer and AWS Budgets to set your resource budgets and preferred budget periods. Then we deploy alarms to generate alerts and custom actions to run automatically or through an approval process when a budget target is exceeded.​
    • Tagging​ - We will recommend and implement a tagging strategy design to enable granular cost centre cost allocation and/or forward billing of resources in line with your business requirements.​
