Overview
BAM (Bedrock Assessment & Migration): BAM, by Basis, is an intelligent automation platform that accelerates and simplifies the migration of LLM workloads to AWS Bedrock. Offered at no cost, BAM provides organizations with a frictionless entry point to evaluate migration readiness and identify cost-saving opportunities without the typical engineering overhead. Designed to eliminate manual effort, BAM performs comprehensive migration assessments that traditionally require multiple engineers, delivering faster insights, reduced costs, and a clear, data-driven path to Bedrock adoption.
Powered by Nova, BAM automates complex analysis and decision-making processes that once relied on specialized engineering lift. It integrates directly with your code repositories, detects every LLM API dependency, calculates application and migration complexity, and produces a complete, data-driven migration roadmap, covering timeline, resourcing, and cost projections.
With BAM, organizations replace manual discovery and estimation with instant visibility, enabling leadership and engineering teams to make confident, informed decisions within hours, not weeks.
Migration Scoping & Analysis:
BAM securely connects to GitHub, GitLab, and Amazon S3 to scan your entire codebase. Within minutes, it automatically identifies all existing LLM calls, related dependencies, and Bedrock-compatible equivalents. The platform then generates a Migration Report that includes:
- An application complexity score quantifying the scale and structure of your existing implementation.
- A migration complexity score detailing the estimated effort required to transition from your current LLM provider to AWS Bedrock.
- A complete list of all files and components requiring modification, including mapped references to detected LLM API calls.
- A detailed migration plan with projected resource requirements, time estimates, and cost forecasts to support accurate budgeting and scheduling.
This automation replaces manual scoping efforts that typically consume multiple engineers and lengthy planning cycles. By transforming complex migration audits into simple, data-rich outputs, BAM gives teams the insights they need to plan accurately, allocate resources efficiently, and accelerate time-to-decision.
Model Assessment & Validation:
BAM’s Model Assessment Engine allows users to evaluate multiple AWS Bedrock models side-by-side, such as Amazon Titan, Anthropic Claude, and Meta Llama, without writing code or provisioning infrastructure. Using real workloads, teams can benchmark models across accuracy, speed, and cost, instantly identifying the best fit for their application. Nova interprets the results, providing data-driven recommendations that eliminate guesswork and optimize model selection for both performance and financial outcomes.
Why BAM?
- Drastically Reduces Engineering Costs: Automates analysis that typically requires multiple engineers and weeks of manual effort.
- Accelerated Decision-Making: Generate complete migration plans and cost projections in hours.
- Data-Driven Precision: Replace assumptions with objective scoring, metrics, and model comparisons.
- Unified Business & Technical Insights: Bridge the gap between finance, leadership, and engineering teams with one view of readiness and ROI.
- Low-Lift Implementation: No custom code or infrastructure setup required.
- Built for Scale: Suitable for single applications or enterprise-wide migration programs.
AWS Alignment:
BAM serves as a strategic entry point into AWS-funded engagement opportunities. By providing validated migration readiness data and performance benchmarks, BAM helps organizations qualify for deeper Basis-led GenAI Assessments, Proof of Concept (PoC) development, and Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) funding initiatives.
