You pay by the hour for running Gitness on your chosen EC2 instance type. The 21 dimensions map to different EC2 sizes, so pricing scales with the compute capacity you select. Burstable T2 and T3 types range from nano and micro up to 2xlarge for variable workloads. General-purpose M3, M4, and M5 large types suit steady use. Compute-optimized C3, C4, and C5 large types favor processing. Memory-optimized R3, R4, and R5 large types favor memory. You pick the instance that fits your workload, and the hourly rate follows that size.

What do I get for each hourly instance dimension, and what does the hourly rate cover?
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type running Gitness. The hourly rate covers the software licence and vendor support. You choose the instance size based on the CPU and memory you need. AWS charges the underlying EC2 compute separately from this software fee.
Am I charged the hourly software fee when my instance is stopped?
The software fee meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue hourly software charges. You may still owe AWS storage fees for attached volumes while the instance is stopped. Charges resume once you restart the instance.
How do I move to a larger instance if my workload grows?
You switch by launching a different instance type from the dimension list. Each type bills at its own hourly rate. There is no automatic upgrade; you select the size that fits your needs. The vendor offers 24/7 support to help with deployment.
