You pay by the hour for this .NET SDK 6 machine image running on Windows Server 2022. Billing is usage-based, so charges accrue only while an instance runs. The many options listed are AWS EC2 instance types, not separate software plans. Each one reflects a different compute, memory, storage, or GPU profile. Smaller sizes like t3.nano suit light workloads, while metal and multi-xlarge sizes serve heavier compute needs. Your hourly rate scales with the instance type you choose. Pick the size that matches your performance and capacity requirements, then adjust as your needs change.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What am I actually paying for when I pick an instance type like m5.large?
You pay for a running EC2 virtual machine that carries the .NET SDK 6 image on Windows Server 2022. Each instance type sets a fixed compute, memory, storage, or GPU profile. One running instance meters one hourly charge. Larger sizes carry higher hourly rates because they allocate more resources.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges accrue only while an instance runs. If you stop an instance, the hourly software charge stops. Underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volume may still apply while the instance is stopped, but the software meters running time only.
Does my rate change automatically if I move to a different instance type?
No automatic change happens. You choose the instance type when you launch. Your hourly rate matches that chosen type. To move to a different size, you launch or resize to another instance type. The new hourly rate then applies for the hours that instance runs.
