    Overview

    Cintra's Oracle Enterprise Edition (EE) to Standard Edition (SE) roadmap service will provide a detailed roadmap and action plan to migrate your suitable Oracle EE databases to Amazon RDS for Oracle SE License Included. The roadmap from EE to SE includes a remediation plan for each identified database.

    EE is often the default option for Oracle workloads on premises due to established Oracle enterpise software agreements. Many organisations irrespective of genuine requirement are using EE where SE could be adequately utilised. This becomes a challenge and an opportunity when considering cloud migrations for Oracle workloads as high EE BYOL costs can put a cloud business case at risk, and at the same time if EE to SE optimisation is performed this can significanlty reduce costs and therefore support a robust cloud migration business case.

    Cintra's Assessment Service analysis of 5,796 real world databases showed that 47% of enterpise databases were candidates for Oracle SE, and that moving from EE to SE delivers an 81% reduction in annual Oracle BYOL Licensing and Support costs.
