Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the Amazon EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so pricing scales with the compute resources you choose. Options span several instance families: general-purpose (t2, t3, m3, m4, m5), compute-optimized (c3, c4, c5), and memory-optimized (r3, r4, r5). Within each family, smaller sizes like t3.nano or t2.micro cost less per hour than larger sizes like t2.2xlarge. You are billed only for the hours you use, with no upfront commitment. Software runs on Open Printing with Ubuntu 24.04 and includes maintenance support.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly unit maps to one running Amazon EC2 instance of the size you select, such as t3.medium or r5.large. You are billed for each hour that instance runs. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates because they provide more compute and memory resources.
The software charges meter running time by the hour. A fully stopped instance stops accruing software charges. Underlying AWS storage or other resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but the software licence bills only for hours the instance runs.
You select the instance size when you launch, and each size is a separate hourly dimension. To change size, you launch a new instance of the size you want. Billing then follows that new instance's hourly rate. There is no upfront commitment tying you to one size.
