Overview
AlmaLinux 10 arm64 (AWS Graviton), hardened by ToTheNOC with the open-source ComplianceAsCode content (profile 'CIS Level 1 Server').
Most hardened images are scanned once, when they are built. We had images that passed the scan at build and did not boot. So every release of this image is launched, checked and scanned again on a running instance before it is listed. Last result: 295 of 295 automated checks pass (OpenSCAP, ComplianceAsCode 'CIS Level 1 Server' profile).
Check it yourself on your instance: sudo ttn-cis-audit. Send the journal to your own log collector: sudo ttn-journal-upload (or at launch, in user data).
What you get on first boot: SELinux enforcing, firewalld with only SSH open, SSH with key login only (no root, no password), /tmp mounted noexec, GRUB protected, new host keys and machine-id for every instance.
Evidence for every release (OpenSCAP report, raw results, tailoring, boot checks, checksums): https://www.tothenoc.com/hardened-images/
Behind this image there is a sysadmin with 25 years in infrastructure and security, not an anonymous publisher.
