Each type sets a different hourly rate that reflects its compute and memory capacity. Larger sizes, such as the 2xlarge, 4xlarge, 10xlarge, and 16xlarge options, cost more per hour than the large and xlarge sizes. You are not locked into a term or fixed quantity. Pick the instance that fits your workload, and billing scales with the hours you run it.

What does the hourly rate cover beyond the EC2 instance itself?
The hourly charge covers the Nebula Graph software packaged and maintained by Hossted on the instance you run. You can also connect the app to the Hossted Platform for real-time monitoring, automated updates, security, and analytics. Underlying AWS compute and storage are billed separately by AWS.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges meter running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software fee. Note that stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage costs for attached volumes, which AWS bills separately from this software.
How do I pick which instance-type dimension to run?
You choose the instance type at launch based on the compute and memory your workload needs. Each of the 18 dimensions maps to one EC2 instance type across the m3, m4, t2, t3, and t3a families. You are not locked in and can switch by relaunching on a different type.

Our basic recomendation is to use provided security rules at least for deployment phase until successful app access. After deployment, you can access your application at http://<public IP>. (It might take up to 15 minutes to be available post-deployment). Default credentials should be username admin and password is your instance's InstanceID. If creds are not valid, check login greetings of VM. The machine should be accessible via SSH, default username: ubuntu. App login credentials (and additional app-related details) are available on message of the day (and /etc/motd).
