    Overview

    The NetApp® Cloud Volumes ONTAP Implementation Service delivers expertise and best practices to fully implement and configure Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO) into your Amazon public cloud environment. The service provides the virtual installation and implementation of CVO into your AWS environment, including the gathering and coordination of information required for the AWS environment and software configuration. When configuration is complete, the system is verified and tested for functionality. For existing ONTAP customers, the service:

    • Synchronizes data between Cloud Volumes ONTAP and on-premises data to avoid loss of data integrity and impact to productivity
    • Identifies the right mix of cloud resources to maintain business continuity and compliance
    • Promotes business continuity and scalability by mirroring your on-premises environment to the cloud, including mapping and testing between the on-premises environment and AWS infrastructure.

    This comprehensive service provides:

    • Discovery – identify performance, capacity, security, network requirements for cloud workloads.
    • Design – a low-level design document that outlines the right configuration parameters to be used during the implementation phase.
    • Implementation – setting up and deploying Cloud Manager and required CVO instances via the Cloud Manager interface, creating SVMs, aggregates, snapshot policies, mapping LUNs to compute hosts, and testing networking connectivity to the cloud environment.
