Usage instructions
Initial Connection and Setup
- Launch the instance from AWS Marketplace and wait for full initialization (2-3 minutes)
- Connect via SSH using the provided key pair: ssh -i your-key.pem ubuntu@instance-ip
- MongoDB Enterprise 7.0.26 is automatically started and running as a service
Database Access and Port Configuration
- Connect locally via MongoDB shell: mongosh --port 27017
- Port 27017 is the primary MongoDB listening port for all database operations
- Remote connections use: mongodb://your-instance-ip:27017
- Default authentication is enabled - credentials in /etc/mongodb/auth.txt
- Configure security groups to allow trusted sources to connect to port 27017
Operational Management
- Start/stop MongoDB: sudo systemctl start or stop or restart mongod
