You pay by the hour for running PivotX on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance type. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so the rate reflects the compute, memory, and network capacity of that machine. Options span burstable t2 and t3 families, general-purpose m3, m4, and m5 families, compute-optimized c3, c4, and c5 families, and memory-optimized r3, r4, and r5 families. You select the instance that fits your workload. Larger instances cost more per hour. Billing is usage-based, so charges accrue only while an instance runs. The vendor provides support and 24/7 assistance.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and what specs come with each instance type?
Each unit is one running Amazon EC2 instance of the named type, billed per hour. The instance type sets the compute, memory, and network capacity. Burstable t2 and t3 types suit intermittent loads. General-purpose m families balance resources. Compute-optimized c families favor processing. Memory-optimized r families favor RAM-heavy workloads.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly software charges accrue only while an instance runs. If you stop or terminate the instance, the PivotX software charge stops. Underlying AWS storage or other resources tied to a stopped instance may still incur separate AWS fees, but the software meters running time only.
How do I move to a larger instance if my workload grows?
You launch the instance type that fits your workload and pay that type's hourly rate. To scale up, switch to a different instance type; billing then follows the new type's rate. There is no upfront commitment, so you change instances as needs shift.
