    Usage instructions

Please refer to the (Denodo Enterprise for AWS Quick Start Guide)[https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/document/9/Denodo%209%20Enterprise%20for%20AWS%20Quick%20Start%20Guide ] for first steps.

When you're configuring the EC2 instance you must allow IMDSv1 in order to have the Denodo Platform license working: Advanced details > Metadata version > V1 and V2 (token optional).

Please note that prior to your subscription deployment, you would need to generate a key pair to be able to login to the Denodo server EC2 instance, and thus ensure a smooth installation process. (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/create-key-pairs.html )

To connect to the instance via SSH, use the following command: ssh -i <your-key-pair.pem> ec2-user@<vm_ip>

Once the Denodo instance is running, you can use the web tools readily available and optionally install the Denodo VDP Administration Tool to access VDP. Use a supported browser to point to the following URL of the Design Studio Web Tool following the pattern:

    http://<vm_ip>:9090/denodo-design-studio/

Where <vm_ip> is the IP address or DNS name for the Denodo Enterprise VDP virtual machine in the deployment.

The connection details for all tools are as follow:

Username: admin Password: the running Amazon instance ID. You can obtain it in the AWS console or by retrieving the instance metadata (see: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/instancedata-data-retrieval.html ). Server URI (Only applies to client installer): replace "localhost" with your running Amazon instance's public internet name or IP address

High-Performance Data Virtualization with Minor Scaling Hiccups

    Reviewed on Mar 11, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the Self-Service Data Catalog from a user experience perspective. Additionally, the High-Octane 'Smart Query' Optimization is a standout feature, especially how it intelligently combines data from multiple locations using AI to find the quickest way to deliver results.
What do you dislike about the product?
Denodo shines with mid-to-large datasets, but when you hit extreme 'Big Data' scales (petabytes of data or thousands of complex concurrent joins), performance can dip. Significant performance tuning (caching, query rewriting, and 'push-down' optimization) which can be technically exhausting to get right. It often feels like a desktop application ported to the web. Tasks like complex search-and-replace across multiple views, or bulk-editing properties, can be click-heavy and tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Denodo resolves the 'Data Silo' headache, outdated data issues, and messy security compliance. It effectively optimizes queries using AI, improving report generation. The Self-Service Data Catalog enhances user experience, making data access and management more intuitive.

Denodo’s Real-Time Data Virtualization Makes Integration Fast and Flexible

    Reviewed on Jan 25, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Denodo is its data virtualization capability. It lets us access and integrate data from multiple sources in real time without having to move the data. As a result, data management becomes faster, simpler, and more flexible for our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about Denodo is that it can be complicated to configure and manage, especially for beginners. In addition, performance tuning can require advanced technical skills, particularly when working with large or complex data sources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Denodo helps solve the problem of data silos by providing a single virtual data layer that connects to different data sources. It allows us to access real-time data without having to duplicate it across systems. For me, this means saving time, improving data consistency, and making reporting and analytics faster and easier overall.

Instant Unified Data Access, No ETL Required

    Reviewed on Oct 27, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy the setup process is with Denodo, thanks to its extensive collection of built-in connectors that make integration seamless. The ability of Denodo to connect virtually to all my data sources and present them as a unified view is invaluable, as it reduces the time my staff spends on data collection, reconciliation, and cleaning. The unified data access and the logical layer abstraction offered by Denodo effectively consolidate data from multiple systems like ERP, CRM, and spreadsheets, giving users and applications a single source of truth without the need for complex ETL processes. This gives me instant access to multiple systems, streamlining our data governance efforts. The single logical layer created by Denodo is especially beneficial when integrated with tools like Qlik Sense, enhancing our data visualization and analysis capabilities. Overall, I highly value these capabilities as they significantly improve our workflows and data management processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Enterprises grade software can be expensive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Denodo connects scattered data sources, providing a unified view and saving staff time on data collection, reconciliation, and cleaning.
