The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) produces data about the nation's economy, including U.S. gross domestic product, better known as GDP, as well as state and local numbers, foreign trade and investment stats and industry data.

Data Source

The dataset files included with this product are provided in CSV format. README files are also included to offer context on data fields used throughout the dataset files. The specific files included with each revisions may vary.

Consumer spending is a key component of quarterly gross domestic product. This dataset offers consumer spending statistics published by BEA and can serve as one of early gauges of the economy's strength. It includes data on the goods and services purchased by, or on behalf of, people living in each state and the District of Columbia. Officially known as personal consumption expenditures, these statistics provide insight into the strength of a state economy and consumers' buying trends.

This product uses the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) Data but is not endorsed or certified by BEA. Please refer to the BEA Terms Of Service  for more information.
