P3 Data Govern is a standardized framework for establishing enterprise Data Governance on AWS, building the foundation for secure data sharing and analysis. P3 Data Govern leverages various services including AWS Lake Formation, AWS Glue, and Amazon S3; we partner with your stakeholders to define access policies and ensure the right data reaches the right hands.

P3 Data Govern produces a comprehensive Data Catalog, a metadata repository that makes critical information about your data readily accessible to authorized users. This can be done using native tools such as AWS Glue Data Catalog, a central metadata repository that makes your data in Amazon S3 readily discoverable. The approach includes collaboration with Data Managers and Data Consumers to identify relevant metadata for inclusion in the data catalog, data tagging automation, and metadata generation.

Based on your defined policies, P3 Data Govern implements automated, fine-grained access controls through services like AWS Lake Formation. This allows you to grant permissions to your data lake using an Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) model, providing column-level and row-level security for users and services. This creates a fully auditable environment, empowering users of analytical tools like Amazon Athena, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon SageMaker to make data-driven decisions without needing to duplicate, move, or disrupt your organizational data.
