Ohio COVID-19 Vaccine VSafe Data

During the COVID-19 public health emergency, the CDC developed a vaccine symptom reporting system called "VSafe" that users could record their post-vaccine symptoms from their phone. Over 10 million people utilized VSafe, which accumulated more than 150 million rows total. An organization called ICANdecide.org submitted a FOIA request to have this data publicly available and the CDC complied. The data released as a result of the FOIA is too large for most end-users to handle in Excel or other databases. Therefore we sliced the data into usable chunks, by state, and linked the response data with registrant data and vaccination dates. To limit the size of the database, at this time, we have only included rows where there is: at least one severe symptom, a hospitalization, an ER visit, a fever, or a report of being unable to work, attend school, or perform activites of daily living.
