Virtasant’s Cloud Optimization (CO) is an outcome-based solution that measures actual savings delivered by recommendations made by our platform and executed by our customers, either manually or automatically through our platform.

We use a variety of approaches to support a FinOps practice for clients. As each client starts from a unique position, the below should be considered the starting point for any engagement with likely additions and changes implemented per specific findings and needs.

Assessment: The first step in implementing a FinOps practice at a large scale is to assess the current state of the customer's AWS environment. This includes reviewing the customer's current spending patterns, resource utilization, and cost optimization techniques.

Goals and objectives: Based on the assessment, we will work with you to define the goals and objectives of the FinOps practice.

Cost optimization: We focus on implementing cost optimization techniques to reduce your AWS bill. This may involve setting up Reserved Instances, optimizing resource utilization, and implementing cost allocation tags.

Monitoring and reporting: Virtasant implements a monitoring and reporting system to track the customer's AWS spending. This will help you to identify any trends or anomalies in their spending and make informed decisions about their AWS environment.

Automation: To ensure that the FinOps practice is sustainable, we implement automation techniques, including setting up automated cost reports, alerts, and resource optimization scripts.

Process improvement: We will also work withyou to improve your overall AWS management processes. This may include developing best practices for resource deployment, cost allocation, and resource utilization.

Ongoing support: Virtasant will provide ongoing support to the customer to ensure that their FinOps practice remains effective. This may involve regular check-ins, training, and technical support.

Evaluation and adjustment: We regularly evaluate the customer's FinOps practice to ensure that it is meeting their goals and objectives. If necessary, we help make adjustments to the FinOps practice to ensure that it continues to be effective.
