You pay by the hour for support tied to a Rocky Linux 8 virtual machine. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, so your rate follows the instance you run. Small shared instances like t2.nano or t3.micro sit at one end, while large compute, memory, storage, GPU, and bare-metal instances like p5.48xlarge or u-24tb1.metal sit at the other. Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly charge covers support for a Rocky Linux 8 virtual machine tied to the EC2 instance type you select. Each product includes a support team to help you launch and resolve issues. The underlying AWS compute cost is billed separately by AWS.
Billing meters the hours the selected instance runs. When the instance is stopped, the hourly support charge does not accrue. Note that AWS may still charge for storage tied to a stopped instance, but that is separate from this hourly support rate.
Each running instance is billed at the hourly rate for its matching instance type. If you run different sizes, each accrues its own rate for the hours it runs. Charges add together across all active instances on the same invoice.

Usage instructions
Connecting to your instance
After launching your supported Rocky Linux 8 instance, the recommended connection method is AWS Systems Manager Session Manager SSM. This provides a secure and fully managed way to access the instance without opening inbound ports. Detailed instructions are available at https://docs.aws.amazon.com/systems-manager/latest/userguide/session-manager.html
If you choose to connect with SSH, use the default username rocky along with your private key file and the instance public IP address. Connect on port 22 using the format:
ssh -i /path/to/your-key.pem rocky@public-ip-address

Security recommendations
Avoid exposing your instance directly to the public internet. If SSH access is required, restrict your security group to trusted IP addresses only.
This image is fully updated at the time of release and configured for general enterprise use. Some workloads or services may require additional configuration depending on your environment.
