Amazon Linux 2023 hardened to the CIS Benchmark Level 1 with a documented exceptions list, for Graviton (arm64) instances. An x86_64 edition is listed separately. SELinux stays enforcing. Each instance gets its own SSH host keys and machine identity on first boot, and builds its own file-integrity (AIDE) baseline a few minutes later. Security updates install automatically. Every release ships with its CIS audit results. Charges cover hardening, maintenance and support by IOanyT Innovations.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. All 16 dimensions run the same hardened Amazon Linux 2023 image on Arm64/Graviton hardware. Pricing scales by the EC2 instance type you launch. These group into four families: t4g for general burstable workloads, m7g for balanced compute, c7g for compute-focused workloads, and r7g for memory-focused workloads. Within each family, you choose a size from large up to 4xlarge (medium to 2xlarge for t4g). Larger sizes bill at higher hourly rates. Your AWS EC2 infrastructure charges are separate from this software fee.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What is included in the per-hour software charge for each instance type?
Each hourly rate covers the Amazon Linux 2023 image hardened to CIS Benchmark Level 1, running on Arm64/Graviton hardware. You get SELinux enforcing, key-only SSH, automatic security updates, and a per-instance file-integrity baseline. The rate scales with the EC2 instance size you launch.
Am I charged the software fee when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software fee meters running instance-hours only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay underlying AWS fees, such as storage for the stopped volume. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
What drives my total cost across the 16 instance-type dimensions?
You pay for one dimension at a time, based on the instance type you launch. Cost equals that type's hourly rate multiplied by running hours. Larger sizes bill at higher rates. Your separate AWS EC2 infrastructure charges add to the software fee on the same invoice.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
